Pay with Crypto: Chaingateway and ForumPay
Since August 2023 Chaingateway subscriptions can be paid in cryptocurrency through the ForumPay payment gateway. What changed, and how it works today.

Chaingateway has accepted cryptocurrency for its own subscription plans since August 2023. The payment runs through ForumPay, a crypto payment gateway, and the plan is paid on-chain instead of by card. This note records what the integration is, what has changed since the announcement, and how crypto payment works today.
What did the ForumPay integration change?
It added cryptocurrency as a payment method for Chaingateway plans. The July 2023 product update listed Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ether, DASH, XRP and USDT as supported currencies. That list is from 2023. The billing page in your dashboard shows the options that are available now.
ForumPay is a payment gateway for Chaingateway’s own billing. It is not part of the blockchain API that you call for addresses, transactions and webhooks.
How do you pay with crypto today?
You pay to a static payment address that belongs to your account. The New Payment Flow release of April 2025 replaced the earlier checkout. Your billing page shows the address, the subscription end date, the plan and a QR code. The amount is flexible, and the end date moves with the amount you transfer.
The account endpoint returns the same data for scripts:
curl https://app.chaingateway.io/api/account \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $CHAINGATEWAY_TOKEN"In the sample response of the API reference, payment_method is crypto and a crypto_payment object holds the currency (for example USDT_TRC20), the payment address, the price in EUR and in crypto, and a QR code URL. The QR code URL points to ForumPay’s payment API, so the gateway is still part of the flow.
What does a plan cost?
Plans start at €49 per month or €490 per year. The 7-day free trial needs no card and no KYC. The sample response shows a €49.00 plan with a crypto amount next to it. The crypto amount depends on the exchange rate, so read it from the billing page or the API at the time you pay.
What was removed from the original article?
The 2023 text made general claims about speed, fees, security and global reach. None of them came with data, so they are no longer part of this page.
